Family archive and tree

What it is

The documentary record of the Krzuk family of Wieluń and Praszka, assembled over twenty-five years from the archives of three countries, together with the family tree that ties it into one line from Krzepice in 1810 to the present.

Four generations in Wieluń. Szaja Krzuk (b. Praszka 1860) and his wife Zelda née Dawidowicz, their seven sons, and what became of each of them.

Why it exists as an archive and not a folder

Three audiences, three different things to show:

• Family. The tree and the photographs, with living people handled carefully.
• Institutions. A catalogue of what is held, so a curator can see the shape of the collection without being given it. See catalogue.md.
• Researchers and descendants. Individual documents with their translations, on request, credited.

Where it stands

• The record is substantially complete for Szaja's line; gaps listed in actions.md.
• The Wieluń museum asked in writing (14 July 2026) for the cemetery photograph and the family photographs; a donation statement and a collection agreement govern what goes and on what terms. See /projects/museum-collection/.
• Nothing has yet been deposited.

Principles

1. Nothing is given loose. Material goes to an institution as a named collection, credited, under a written agreement.
2. Every scan keeps its provenance: which archive, which reference, when obtained.
3. Translations are marked as translations, with the original beside them.
